What we collect
When you create an account, we store your name, email, and profile information you choose to provide (bio, location, music platform links). When you use NoteClub, we store the albums you share, comments, likes, and group membership. We also collect basic analytics like app opens to improve the service.
How we use your data
Your data is used to operate NoteClub — showing your albums to your group members, sending notifications you've opted into, and displaying your profile to other users. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
What we share
Your albums, comments, and profile are visible to members of your groups. When you share an album publicly via a share link, only the album's title, artist, cover art, and streaming links are visible — no personal information is exposed. We do not share your data with third parties except as needed to operate the service (hosting, email delivery).
Notifications
You may receive push notifications and SMS alerts based on your preferences. You can disable these at any time through your notification settings or by removing your phone number from your profile.
Third-party services
NoteClub integrates with Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music for album metadata and playlist creation. When you connect your Spotify account, we store an access token to create playlists on your behalf. You can disconnect at any time from Settings. We use Google and Discord for optional OAuth sign-in.
Data retention & deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your Settings page. This permanently removes your profile, notifications, and group memberships. Albums and comments you posted are preserved anonymously to maintain group history.
Cookies & storage
We use cookies for authentication (keeping you signed in) and localStorage for preferences (theme, last viewed album). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics services.
